Willow had gone up stairs to her private tower after the phone call to Xander. She missed him, even as she knew his friends, people she once called family, plotted to destroy her, to wipe her from the planet.

the picture:

She stepped into the tower, and began climbing the polished white and silver marble staircase. She then opened the white ash wood door to her tower. This large tower room was not a place of magic that she used, but a place of memories, an asylum, a sanctuary that she could remember those long lost days prior to when Tara died.

The room was large, with white washed walls, and two large rounded, arched windows one to the east, the other to the west. There was a brass day bed on the left side of one of the windows, and a large white washed dresser to the right. There was a bookcase, filled with yearbooks, diaries, scrapbooks filled with memories that ripped at Willow’s fragile, complicated, practically broken soul.

She went and knelt in front of a large white washed chest, with the letters TBM engraved into the top along with a weeping willow tree wrapped with wild roses. Willow’s pale fingers trail over the letters and the engraving, as her eyes filled a hot rush of tears. She lifted the lid, and her fingers caressed a dark blue cashmere sweater. She lifted it from the box along with a long dark chocolate brown broomstick skirt. She carried them to the bed, and they seemed to fill with nothing but air. She lied in it’s arms, and for a short time, pretended it was Tara holding her.

After a while she stood, and the magic deflated the clothes. Willow then put them back in the chest. She closed the lip and then looked at the pictures she had framed on the bookcase. They stared at her, reminding, taunting for her failure to protect them from the one thing she could have. Herself, her magic, her darkness. the monster she had become.

She stepped over to one of the pictures. It was in an anique silver frame that Joyce Summers had given her as a graduation gift. God, how she missed Joyce. She had been like amother to willow and to Xander. The picture was one of Her, Xander and Buffy from Halloween , first year of college. Xander was looking at Buffy, wearing that silly tux. He had decided to go as ‘Bond, James Bond.’ She laughed a little as she remembered. Buffy had been in the middle wearing a Little Red Riding Hood costume, with a basket full of stakes. She, willow, had gone as Joan of arc, because her boyfriend at the time, Oz, had gone as God.

She turned away from the pictures, to push the tears from her cheeks.

“I’m sorry Guys, I promise, when I remake the world, everything will be the way it should be. No more monsters like me, like Warren. I promise. I’ll make it right” he said out loud, her words were more then just words, they were a vow, a promise, something unbreakable.

Willow had been sitting in one of many her alcoves, casually reading one of many books she had to whittle away her down time. She had done too much magic two night prior and had spent the day resting, and rejuvenating her internal batteries. Currently, Her fortress was empty except for a few demons below stairs who were much too busy to bother her. Faith was out, enjoying the newly found freedom and the free booze. Gavin was more then likely looking for yet another girl to drink or mate with. She closed the cheesy vampire romance novel and tossed in a two a wicker basket that sat by the bench in the alcove for that purpose. She looked out of the large sphere-shaped window out to where the front lawn was landscaped like a wicked fairytale castle’s would be. She saw a appeared to a thin girl huddled in a dark gray jacket. Clearly the girl was in need of something, but why would someone dare to come the “Wicked Willow’s”?

She went down stairs, the train of long black and purple velvet dressing gown trailing behind her. She tossed her rubies and midnight tousled curls over one shoulder. She went to the front and opened the Large outer door, to see a face she had not expected to see on her doorstep.

There was the girl who had been one of first teachers of magic, and the one she had shut out of her life because of same magic that now race though her blood. She was tallish, unfed clearly, by the way the wrinkled, crumpled dirty faded out blue pinstriped shirt and overly baggy dark berry cords hung on the girl. The boots were black, clearly worn out. The jacket was gunmetal gray and was moth eaten and ripped. Willow looked the girl up and down, and for a moment, a stab of regret went though her, as she looked at the girl who used to be a friend.

“Hello Amy.” Willow said.

Willow sat in one of the smaller alcoves of her fortress, looking out on to the outskirts of her domain. She could see a few of the more meek servants working in the gardens and grooming the landscape as she commanded. She looked out over the setting sun, and smiled a wicked little smile. She couldn’t explain it, but she could feel the urge of mystic energy that only came with another slayer in the same area.

“So little lost Faith has come back to seek something, mmm but what?” Willow said out loud to herself.

Willow's Chambers

She stood, tossed her long flame and midnight dusted hair over one shoulder, and started toward her private chambers. She stepped into the elaborate, lavishly decorated room and shut the thick, highly glossed cherry door behind her. She then walked over to the far left of her room and knelt in front of a large, wide, chest made of deep cherry and mahogany wood that was heavily decorative with a intricate hand made carving of a willow tree.

She carefully opened the large trunk and smiled as she picked up a black suede covered box. She cautiously opened it to reveal the red cotton that once was one of Faith’s flimsy tank tops. She then tenderly removed the cloth and unwrapped a wicked looking blade

“Well, well, look what I have,” Willow said with a soft dark voice. “I wonder what little miss Faith would do for this lovely little toy.”

Willow was bored. She had spent a great deal of the day doing nothing more then painting her nails. She looked at the cell phone, and thought of calling him. Then she shook her head and said "no, no, no. Can’t; call him. He wants you dead." Then she heard the old side of her self, talking inside of head "but he’s your best friend. Call him."

Willow picked up the phone, opened the sleek black and red razor and dialed the cell number that was so well known to her.

no one ever gets everything they want. and i hate to sound trite, but sometimes you have to wait and see what else fate has to deal to you

maybe God/goddess has something even for fabulous for you in the future and you had to get though this crap first.

I'm the one person you should believe when I say that I truly think that everyone gets have something, and someone wonderful to spend their life with. I didn't use to believe it, but i do now. I used to think that fate was a bitch and she laughing at me. and I’m not saying she's the nicest thing in the world, but i have to believe that right now it may be raining, on both of us, and the storm clouds are lingering near by, but soon, the sun will start to clear the clouds away, and we will see the day brighter then ever before.

i am the queen of fuck ups and mistakes... of going right when i should have gone left of pushing away people when i should held them close, of holding them close when i should have shoved them away. I think life is like a path... and you sometimes have to repeat a few mistakes to get it right. no one is perfect. not you . not me.

This morning has been odd. I was adopted by a cat. Granted she thinks she claimed me, but I admit it. I seriously needed more love from that medium ball of fluffy kitty-ness. It’s been forever since there has been any affection in my world.
As for Josh, I hugged him. It’s not like I meant anything, but I am concerned he may have seen something more in that hug, other then just friendship. I Admit, it was nice to feel someone for once, but just as a friend. He seems to have lost faith in everything, even himself.
Goddess, help me. Help me show him that there is something to believe in, even though everything seems to have crashed around our feet. I know you are watching, and you mourning this as well. I know this is simply something we have to deal with, and those who have survived have to put things back together. It won’t be the same, but we have to try to find some mode of real life, and get ourselves together.
As for Xander, I am hoping he’s out there somewhere, I need him so much. And as for love, I know you’ve told me many times, that love is personal, and you had plans for me after Tara. I had thought it was Kennedy, but clearly I was wrong, but I get this feeling, there is someone out there somewhere who is the right person.

Goddess, help us, I’m afraid I may be running out of faith.

I feel this overwhelming need to explain the whole Xander thing.
Xander has been my best friend since we were like four. We met the first day of kindergarten when I broke the yellow crayon. We have been friends for so long. When I almost lost it, heck when I did loose my sanity after
Tara was killed and I almost destroyed the world, Xander was the one who stopped me. He was, no, is my best friend. He’s more then that, he’s family. If the world is gonna end, I want to be with him when I die.

I realize that this journal is more then like a utter waste of paper and maybe time, but it’s one of the few things I am keeping now that I’m going though this blasted magical jump, this leap of faith Tara would have called it.
I spent the last day ransacking the slayer dorms for food stuffs and medicines and clothes and things that we may need whenever I find Xander. Thank goodness I made sure that every slayer had the basic earth quake kit and first aid overstocked.
I did leave some behind just in case others made it though the sickness and such.
I think I have everything I can possible bring with me. I have Kennedy’s backpack stocked with stuff…and two duffels and a trash bag full of clothes medicines, and food stuff. I have no idea where I’ll find Xander.. Or in what condition I will find him in… but I’ll be damned if I’m not prepared. I may have hated to be old reliable in high school, but for once, maybe because of my geeky ness I’m gonna be over prepared..
Now only if I can connect with Xander I hope the charm I gave him is still on his blasted key ring. I sure hope he hasn’t tossed the Snoopy away.
